E-learning Excellence with Dillon Productions
Dillion Productions specialises in the production and hosting of unique multimedia interactive E-learning training courses which are a service that is being availed of by an increasing number of public sector organisations.
Dillon Productions was established in 1996 by Managing Director, James Dillon. Our core business is the creation of unique video-rich interactive E-learning training courses, using in-house teams in video production, instructional design and graphic design.
In tandem with course design and production, we offer hosted Learning Management Services, (LMS), including portal design, set-up, maintenance, hosting and support. With an attractive user interface, each branded portal allows for secure access, tracking and reporting on E-Learning activities. Dillon Productions’ customer base spans the Healthcare, Utilities, Transportation, Pharma, FMCG, Manufacturing and Financial Services sectors. It has completed numerous international assignments in the Middle East, Germany and the UK. Within the Public Sector, Dillon Productions produces online programmes for government departments, the HSA, Teagasc, Hospitals, Local Authorities and Semi-State organisations. They provide both off-the-shelf and bespoke programmes on a wide range of topics including HR, EHS, Information Security and compliance. “We are particularly strong in Health, Safety and Environmental training, where our customers are looking for innovative multi-media rich eLearning programmes” explains James Dillon. “The audience is usually staff and contractors who can access the content online or in a stand-alone video format.”
The Dillon Productions team comprises a broad range of experienced media professionals in filming, instructional design, graphics & animations, post-production editing,
digital and sound. “Traditionally the Public Sector will deliver EHS training in a classroom using generic training content, James Dillon explains. “This tends to be time-consuming using up the valuable resources of both the EHS team, HR and employees. “Our approach allows the staff members to log on remotely completing their health and safety training on-line.
The programmes can have a built-in assessment and a downloadable certificate that can be used to authenticate the course completion. From a compliance perspective, the software platform or learning management system used to host the programmes tracks and reports on user activity and programme completion status.” A typical 30-minute health and safety programme covers the main topics that are generic to all organisations e.g., fire safety, manual handling, workstation safety, environmental, policies and procedures.
The course itself is very immersive and uses video, in-vision presenters, professional voice over, sound, graphics and interactive quizzes. “We apply proven project management models to each assignment ensuring that our customers have dedicated resources to work collaboratively with nominated staff,” explains James Dillon. Due to demand, Dillon Productions is currently making a range of off-the-shelf programmes covering areas like HR Induction, Health & Safety, Driving for Work and GDPR. “Our public sector clients are still looking for bespoke content and we are seeing a demand for templated courses that can be tailored for each organisation. GDPR and Health & Safety are a good example of this.
“We have found in the last year that public sector organisations are increasingly looking to provide employee training online,” he adds. “The benefits are the consistency of message and tracking activity for compliance.
